Two Left Pixels: making games with two left feet.

An independent games studio making strategy games with real rules, armies you get attached to, and the occasional moment that makes you laugh out loud. Our first game, Duskmarch, is in development now.

The studio

Small studio. Big battles.

Two Left Pixels makes the kind of games we grew up with: strategy you can sink an evening into, with rules you can read and a world that doesn't take itself too seriously.

We like games that respect your time and your intelligence. When a die is rolled, you see what it needed and why. When an army wins, it's because somebody planned better, and that somebody should feel clever about it.

POWER-UP

Rules on the table

Every roll shows its numbers. Charges go exactly as far as the ruler says. Nothing is hidden behind the screen.

POWER-UP

Playtested to bits

Every change gets played. Then the computer fights hundreds of battles against itself to check that no army runs away with it.

POWER-UP

Small on purpose

Being small means every unit, sound and sentence gets someone's full attention, and every playtester's note gets read.

Now in development

Duskmarch

A tabletop battle game for PC. Raise an army, march it across a three-stage expedition, and keep your veterans alive long enough to become legends.

In development Windows PC Single player Online battles planned
  • Regiments in ranks and filesWheel, charge, flank and break the enemy's nerve. A charge hits the side it comes in on, and a regiment caught from behind rarely holds.
  • Four armies, four ways to fightThe disciplined Kingdom of Aldmere, the tireless Hollow Legion, the Red Fang Horde and the endless Rustwarren.
  • ExpeditionsThree stages of ten steps: battles, towns, mercenary camps and strange encounters, with a different boss waiting at the end of every stage.
  • Veterans with storiesRegiments earn experience and choose promotions. Heroes pick up quirks, scars and magic items, and they remember who wronged them.
  • Nine schools of magicFireballs and lightning, curses that drag at the feet, hexes that spoil an archer's aim, and a Scroll of Dispel for when it all goes wrong.
  • Watch it againEvery battle is kept as a replay. Pause it, play it at eight times speed, or skip to the round where it all fell apart.

What's new in Duskmarch

Straight from the development build.

22 OCTOBER 2026

Bosses, magic and replays

  • Every stage now ends with its own boss, each with a portrait, an army list and a signature rule. Meet Countess Morwenna before you meet the Bone King.
  • Wizards can study a second lore. The new lores of Storms, Shadow, Moon-magic and Rot bring hexes that spoil the enemy's aim and mists that slow them down.
  • Battles are kept as replays, with pause, up to eight times speed, and a button to skip to the next round.
  • A weapon's Strength now depends on who's holding it: a halberd hits harder in a captain's hands than in a militiaman's.
  • Battered regiments can merge with their own kind. Their experience is averaged, so a few veterans among many recruits can cost the regiment a rank.
  • Colour-blind palettes, a bigger text option and a frame-rate cap.

20–21 OCTOBER 2026

The dead get leaders

  • The Hollow Legion marches under a Wight Lord, and the deadliest courts under a Vampire who heals every wound he deals.
  • Late bosses ride to war on dragons. A bone dragon for the Bone King, naturally.
  • The Rustwarren joins as the fourth army: undercity scavengers who always have more where those came from.

How we work

Play it, count it, fix it

The same loop, every day, until the game is finished.

  1. Play it

We play the build. Then our playtesters do, and their notes become the next day's list.

  2. Count it

The computer plays both sides of hundreds of battles and tells us which armies win too often, and why.

  3. Fix it

Prices, rules and spells get adjusted. Every fix comes with a test so it stays fixed.

  4. Again

Back to the start. A game is ready when the loop stops turning up surprises.

Questions

Frequently asked

When can I play Duskmarch?

It's in development now. Playtests and a release date will be announced here first.

What will it run on?

Windows PC first. We'll talk about other platforms once the game is finished.

Can I play against a friend?

Yes. You can already play hot-seat battles on one computer, and online battles against a friend are being built.

Is Duskmarch based on a tabletop game?

It's inspired by classic rank-and-flank tabletop wargames, the kind with regiments on square bases and a tape measure. The world, the armies and the rules are all our own.

How hard is it?

There are three difficulty settings. On an expedition the enemy grows with your army, so the challenge keeps pace with you.

Can I use your logo?

If you're writing about us, yes. Ask us for the brand pack: it has every version of the logo, our colours and our fonts, plus a short guide to using them.
